Trans Patients with Lynch Syndrome - new research!
A downloadable Zine
Done for the Research Zine jam! I'm 99% sure this is not what they're expecting to see, but I hope people enjoy it regardless (and learn something, that would be cool too.)
I'm a trans person with a genetic cancer disorder called Lynch syndrome. It causes cancers like endometrial and colon. The GYN screenings caused me a lot of dysphoria and I was really frustrated with how insensitive the medical world was, how little research existed specifically for trans people, and how genetic cancer is hyperfeminized. Luckily, since 2022-ish, there have been more research efforts to include trans people! I really like this paper, so I wanted to make a zine about it.
Why did I make it silly?
Because I felt like it.
Okay but actually, because humor is a great way to communicate about health & disease. I'm currently doing a Master's in Public Health, but I have an art background, so I'm really interested in how we communicate health and how to make it accessible.
Thanks for reading!!
